Coaching

I like to describe coaching as an approach to conversation. It is a style, as well as a set of tools and techniques, that a coach (me) can use to enable a coachee (you) to think differently, more positively and creatively about a situation, event or even a singular thought that's holding them back. By taking control of your thoughts and understanding what you're aiming for you can actualise your dreams and make them reality...

Coaching comprises a series of 3 or more discussions between a coach and a coachee. The sessions begin by defining what you, the coachee, are looking for from the sessions. Through them you work towards that greatly desired end-goal. Coaching itself offers new angles to think in, new questions to consider, and can change your entire way of being, allowing you to become more relaxed, peaceful and able to smile more.

NLP

NLP is part of my tool-kit! It comprises models, activities and techniques to enable the coachee to look at their own patterns of behaviour and thinking. They can give you the space and the understanding to see where your values are potentially in conflict with your own behaviour; or how you can align your values and your actions so that you can a new, more beneficial, perspective. NLP takes you right down to looking at what information your senses are absorbing and how you are translating this to thoughts and feelings that are affecting your everyday behaviour.

The experience

The journey a coach and coachee take together is one where the coachee is the wisdom, the navigator and the captain. A coach believes, wholeheartedly, that the coachee holds all the answers to their own questions and can truly achieve their goals and overcome any obstacle, secure in the knowledge that their coach is with them all the way. Life

Business

Business coaching is very similar to life coaching in regards to structure, format and tools used. The difference is where the goals and outcomes sit. When a small business owner uses business coaching he/she will have their business' objectives at the focus of the sessions. They can even use business coaching to define those objectives and set up a plan to go forward.

Larger companies who use business coaching can use it for similar purposes to help define objectives and overcome obstacles. They can also incorporate business coaching into their employees' Personal or Continuing Professional Development (CPD) plans. 1-2-1 or group coaching can help employees align their own objectives with the business strategies, improving their performance and efficiency.
